Bohemia Recap – July 2024
We hope you’re all managing to stay somewhat comfortable during this scorching summer. We’re certainly doing our best to stay cool, though all of our games continue to burn hot.
DayZ took a trip back in time with their much-beloved Payday masks, then pointed toward the future by introducing a couple of new ambient animals. Meanwhile, Arma Reforger released four minor updates and was fully localized in Ukrainian, Arma 3 sold an unprecedented amount of copies, Vigor launched its first Q&A stream on TikTok, and Update 1.0 for Ylands EDU is on its way.
As you can see, we haven’t bothered to slow down this summer. So make sure you’re properly hydrated, and let’s dive into the latest headlines.
DayZ
The biggest headline of July was our collaboration with the Payday team to reintroduce the much-beloved Payday masks from our legacy days. These iconic items, cherished by players who loved roleplaying as bandits, made a triumphant return in a special 4th of July event. From Dallas's star-spangled mask to the newly added Chains mask, the community embraced this limited-time event. You can read more about it here.
Another thing we did on the 4th of July was host an art competition where the prizes were free keys for DayZ and Payday 3.
Dev Blog Weeks 28 and 30
In Week 28 of the DayZ Frostline dev blog, we introduced the community to our newly added ambient animals: the red fox and the brown hare. Then, in Week 30, we offered a sneak peek into an upcoming environmental hazard. We publish a new dev blog every two weeks. Follow us on our forum to stay updated.
Team Trip to DayZ IRL
We are hard at work on DayZ Frostline, and while we know winter is coming, we still wanted to enjoy the summer. So the DayZ team made its annual pilgrimage to a real-life DayZ location in the Czech Republic. Check out this partial chronicle of our journey.
Arma Reforger
We released four minor updates in July, which brought optimizations, improvements, and quality of life changes to the game. Check out our blog for a full list of changes in versions 1.2.0.76, 1.2.0.92, 1.2.0.98, and 1.2.0.102.
We are excited to announce that the release of Arma Reforger 1.2 has been fully localized in Ukrainian!
For those of you looking to improve in Conflict game mode, a second entry of our Boot Camp series has been released. This one’s aimed at teaching you the basics of Supplies & Logistics.
Finally, we have announced official support for TrackIR within Arma Reforger for immersive head tracking, which can be enjoyed by pilots, drivers, and infantry alike!
Arma 3
Nearly 11 years after its release, Arma 3 blasted through its previous sales figures, selling nearly 700,000 copies during the 2024 Steam Summer Sale! PC Gamer was quick to take notice. You can read more about the event in their article.
Due to popular demand, we followed up with an Encore Sale. We offered discounts on Arma 3, as well as its DLCs and CDLCs, all of which helped to fuel Arma 3’s thriving player base.
We published a getting started guide for all the new recruits who have joined our ranks, complete with links to resources, DLCs, CDLCs, and more!
Community Manager LeClair was back to streaming up a storm, joining a Battle of Britain community event for some prime Arma 3 gameplay.

Vigor
We celebrated the 4th of July with our American Outlanders with special cosmetics and fireworks. The summer vibes continued with our sale, which offered up to 40% off summer-themed cosmetics. Speaking of sales, you can save 50% on merch at our Bohemia Store until August 18th.
In other news, we held our first TikTok Q&A stream, which attracted 235 viewers, and teased Season 20 on our social media channels.
Ylands
While Update 2.4 is currently in production, we're excited to introduce you to our furry friends in the cutest dev diary ever! Check out Dev Diary #332 and meet the pets of Bohemia Interactive!
As we prepare for the start of the upcoming school year, we're thrilled to announce that Update 1.0 for our educational application Ylands EDU is on its way. This educational tool will be coming out of beta soon, and we can't wait to embark on this new journey. Ylands EDU will operate solely in the Czech Republic for now, but stay tuned for more updates!
