Sales, Streams, and the Spawn of Sauron

The end of the year is rapidly approaching and there’s an animated buzz in the air. The streets are snowy, the shops are crowded, and everybody’s thinking about the holidays. But that doesn’t mean we just forget about November. Especially when it was full of sales and streams and social media, as well as the cutest spawn of Sauron. So kick back, grab a beverage, and dive on into the latest highlights and headlines!

Vigor

We released minor update 13.1 in November, along with Legacy Season 9: Stalkers. Main additions to the update include new Premium Pack “Soldier of Fortune”, an improved tutorial, a new in-game news system, and a new set of Vinyls, accompanied by the Discophile II Title.

Two interesting videos were created for TikTok. The first was a juicy compilation of our Partners' skills, while the second one offered a peek into our process of creating pictures for social media.

Moving on, PlayStation Outlanders were able to grab some discounted packs thanks to November Savings & the PlayStation Indies Sale, our Switch players were treated to some sweet Cyber Deals, and a Black Friday Booster Apocalypse arrived in post-war Norway and slashed a third off booster prices across all game modes.

In terms of our amazing community, we shared some data from our survey, wished everybody a Happy Thanksgiving, and continued with our regular Dev Streams and small competitions.

We also announced the end of Legacy Seasons. But don't worry, there’s still plenty of time before they disappear. Check out this video if you’d like to learn more.

Wrapping things up, we’ll be releasing an Advent Calendar Challenge on Facebook and Twitter every day in December, all the way up to Christmas! Make sure to join us and maybe even win 390 crowns.

Ylands

In November, we were finishing our preparations for the release of Update 1.11: Crafty Crafts!

We shared some new artwork with everybody in order to fully showcase our focus on the game’s Adventure mode. You’ll be seeing it around a lot more, so follow us on social media to stay in the loop. Tik Tok, in particular, is where you’ll find a carefully curated collection of random silliness.

DayZ

We kicked off November with patches to stabilize DayZ update 1.19 (Patch notes), and added another later in the month (Patch notes).

We observed Remembrance Day, celebrated International Men’s Day, and announced that DayZ is now available at the Nuuvemdigital Store due to popular demand across the LATAM region. This news follows our expansion of servers in South America.

Arma Reforger

We released Dev Report #14 where you can read about stable update 0.9.6, our renaming servers to include the location, and how to share addon ownership within a group of modders. You’ll also find two images previewing our upcoming Ground Support.

Regarding game updates, we released update 0.9.6.64 to the Experimental app, then we updated the Stable app.

We continue to produce tutorials and guides to help cover the basics of our Workbench tools. In one of our latest efforts, we released part one about learning to use the Audio Editor. Watch Audio Tutorial: Part 1. Happy learning!

Finally, we want to keep sharing our knowledge via the #ReforgerTips series on our Arma Platform Twitter. Find out how to surprise the enemy, and learn the importance of careful ammunition selection.

Arma 3

The Steam Autumn Sale, held from November 22nd to the 29th, saw a number of new players join the Arma Community! If you are one of those new players and wondering where to get started, we recommend playing the Showcase scenarios and Prologue campaign to begin. From there, you can play the East Wind campaign, or, if multiplayer is more your thing, you can use the server browser to find both Official and Community run servers with many different game modes. If you are considering joining a unit, you can check out Arma 3 Units, Bohemia Interactive Forums, Steam Discussions, and the FindAUnit Subreddit to see what’s out there. There is a wide variety of communities out there just waiting for you to check them out, ranging from casual to hardcore realism!

The Steam Autumn Sale also brought with it the Steam Awards 2022 nomination period. Arma 3 was eligible for the "Labor of Love" category, and we humbly asked our splendid ™ community to nominate us. Thank you to all who did, and we look forward to seeing if we will be selected for the shortlist later this year!

Arma 3 Creator DLC: ČSLA Iron Curtain received a new content update this month. The 1.1 Update added new scenarios, factions, vehicles, weapons, clothing, and more. Some highlights include the addition of an Mi-24V and AH-1 gunship helicopters, the M113 APC in different variants, and the fictional Armed Forces of the Midland Coalition (AFMC).

We released Community Radar (COMRAD) #33 on November 17th. This monthly series highlights some of the best Arma 3 community content to come out over the past month - be it artwork, mods, operations, videos, or live streams. Behind the Scenes

The DayZ team took a trip to the iconic in-game location of Tisy to shoot some photos and do a bit of research. We’ll be embarking on similar adventures in the future.

Community Spotlight

DayZ partnered with the Community for a live event entitled Lights Out. The three-day event was attended by a mixture of new and veteran survivors across Europe, totalling 74 in all.

Day 1 - No PVP (FTUE & practice)
Day 2 - PVP + respawn
Day 3 - PVP, PERMADEATH - King of the Hill

Winners received a Survival Engraved Zippo Lighter and got to submit their custom artwork to DayZ (Flags and Armbands).
