Bohemia Recap – November 2023
Winter is in full effect and the holiday season is around the corner. Don’t you think for a minute, however, that we’ve been resting on our laurels. Vigor released update 17.1 and new Booster Tickets, while Winter Fest arrived in Ylands. Meanwhile, Arma 3 introduced a Czech Veterans Pack and Arma Reforger released highly-anticipated update 1.0. Not to be outdone, Silica spent the month delivering performance updates, while DayZ released update 1.23 and reached an all-time high in concurrent players.
There’s plenty to get to in this latest recap, so let’s dive right into all the happenings.
Vigor
We wrapped up our Halloween competitions, including our Scary Story. Huge thanks to the brave Outlander who "found the missing pages".
Our new Booster Tickets captured the attention of our community. Further explanation was needed, however, so we made another Vigor Explained video that went into more detail.
Vigor also partnered with Civilisté děkují, and introduced the Civilians Thank Veterans charity pack. You can read more about that here.
In other news, we held Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, Outlanders stopped shaving and grew some stylish beards, and we showed you how Vigor trailers are made in our Behind the Trailer video.
Finally, we released update 17.1, which brought many fixes and two new Elimination arenas. We also released Malediction (In My Head) with an accompanying promo video.
Ylands
The first half of the month continued to offer players discounts in our in-game shop via our Halloween sale.
Then Winter Fest arrived in Ylands! Wander around the frozen realm while collecting toys, earning achievements, and taming beasts with a Christmas theme. You better hurry, though, because the event will finish at the end of the year. Don’t forget to visit our Discord for future contests and sales.
We wound up November with Dev Diary #300, which we conveniently named This is YLANDS!
DayZ
DayZ released update 1.23, a significant milestone that was accompanied by the exhilarating news of surpassing player records. The Steam charts witnessed a remarkable ascent, wherein we reached an unprecedented all-time high of 69,449 concurrent players.
November 5th marked a memorable celebration of Guy Fawkes Night, and the DayZ community resonated with the occasion. The festivities were shared and echoed through our official channels. Additionally, the spirit of kindness prevailed as we actively participated in World Kindness Day, exemplifying our commitment to fostering a positive community atmosphere. We also launched a captivating competition offering the chance to win exclusive DayZ merchandise.
While we did not secure a nomination in the Steam Labor of Love Awards, we take pride in our continued eligibility, and look forward to future opportunities for recognition.
On a lighter note, the DayZ office embraced the concept of relaxed ambiance with a unique celebration – Pajamas Day. This event not only showcased our team's camaraderie, but also added a touch of fun to our work environment.
As we reflect on the achievements and festivities of November, we anticipate the continued growth and excitement that lies ahead for DayZ and its vibrant community. Speaking of which, check out the Community Spotlight here.
Arma Reforger
This month saw the eagerly anticipated release of Arma Reforger 1.0! Accompanied by a thrilling trailer, this milestone release added helicopters, a completely overhauled logistics system, and a multitude of other improvements. It is a huge leap forward for the Arma Platform as a whole, and officially kicked off the era of Arma on Enfusion!

Meanwhile, Lead Producer of Arma Reforger and Arma 4, Natasha Agafonova, tackled some great questions from the community regarding the roadmap, challenges in development, and more in the latest episode of Reforger RFI:
We'll be continuously updating and improving Arma Reforger until the public roadmap has been completed, so stay tuned for the latest features and additions to the game!
Arma 3
Arma 3 proudly partnered with Civilisté děkují, a Czech organization that seeks to build trust between the civilian population and the armed forces of the Czech Republic. The Arma 3 Team released a Czech Veterans Pack of in-game assets to help raise awareness about the initiative and held a screenshot competition for the community.
We were overwhelmed by the amazing screenshots submitted by our community, and will be selecting the top 3 submissions, which will receive prizes later this month. Have a look at the stunning in-game artwork and learn more about the initiative in our latest blog post.
Silica
It was a month of updates for Baltarus. Update 0.8.11 mainly focused on game balancing and Harvester pathfinding issues, while update 0.8.14 came with loads of gameplay balancing changes. Then there was update 0.8.5 which was mostly dedicated to improving the game’s overall performance.
Another piece of noteworthy news was Silica’s nomination for Most Innovative Gameplay at the Steam Awards.
Silica was also part of Czech & Slovak Week on Steam and even appeared in the CZ & SK Direct Showcase 2023 stream.
Steam Awards
