Mini DayZ 2 open beta is live on Google's Android and Apple's iOS

It was a huge learning experience, as it’s one thing is to try the game ourselves, and quite another to have thousands of players playing it from their homes. We are happy so many people followed our guidelines and reported hundreds of bugs for us to fix. We also realized that the game is too brutal – even for Mini DayZ. Players on fresh accounts in particular found themselves struggling a lot. So we tried to fix that in the balance patch as well. Keep messaging us to let us know how you feel about it!

Your feedback also gave us a clearer vision of what kind of content our players enjoy the most. So we know what to focus on moving forward! Our goal is to create a game that connects players to their communities, where they can share their strategies and experiences for many years to come. Just like we enjoyed seeing them do in the original Mini DayZ.

So is this the final game? Definitely not. This is just us feeling comfortable enough to share our progress on the project with fans everywhere, especially those who felt excluded by the geo-beta because we know we have thousands of great fans all around the world on both Android and iOS!

As of now, the game offers thousands of maps scattered in 25 raid locations featuring 16 different biomes, each with its own terrain and hidden treasures. You can collect junk and other items to upgrade your base or use them in one of the 31 crafting blueprints. The combat is enhanced, with some weapons offering special attacks and a complex stealth system.

That being said, this is still a work in progress. We are still tracking down some of the rarer bugs and we expect many more popping up from our fellow Android survivors in the following weeks and months. There are also a lot of features that we really want to see come to life in the future!

What’s next?

Those reading our blog posts already know that we’re busy preparing a couple of features for future updates. One of the bigger content updates will include bandits, which will finally bring more variation to the dangers of the wasteland. The other one is offering the option to play with other players. Even though this is a huge task, we are committed to making it happen!

There are also other cool features like leveling and special infected that could get into the game later on, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
