Vigor Update 2.1 brings Personal Stats!
Hei Outlanders.
We saw plenty of new and returning faces in post-war Norway with the season of Hunters. We are happy to see you enjoying the game and having a good time while re-building your Shelters. There's been a ton of valuable feedback you provided recently, and we try to act according to that as fast as possible. You might have noticed there are more updates and they provide you with new and interesting things. This time around, we had shared the update with our Vigor Partners as a part of the Update Preview program as well, yet we kindly asked them to keep it secret. There's a good reason for it, and we will show you more in the next update. But for now, let's focus on Update 2.1, which provides a hefty amount of new content and improvements.
Personal Stats
One of the top requested features is an ability to track your progress in the Encounters. We added the first bunch of personal stats that allows you to see how you've improved over time. There's a wide selection of parameters that are tracked, be it the number of encounters entered, survival rate, the average loot gathered per encounter, number of airdrops retrieved, and more. All of them are available in a new Shelter screen accessible via a weather recording board next to the mailbox. Keep in mind, the stats are only collected once you start playing Update 2.1 – your pre-update successes and failures won't be recorded.
New Reward Screen
While you can check your stats in the Shelter, and even see the improvements you managed in the last encounter, having it in the Reward Screen makes sense as well. That's why we switched the previous encounter stats for the new personal ones, and even provide you as a comparison for the poor Outlanders you kill. They will instantly see just how good you are at surviving the Outlands via your stats. The Reward screen itself got a visual upgrade as well, to better embody the post-war atmosphere. You may possibly even try to find all the results displayed with different scenes – I'll just hint that some of them are rather crushing.
Wardrobe Shop & Ready Button
As you are shown in the Reward screen of your victims – or, of course, for your own satisfaction – it is always better to look the way you want. We added a new possibility to buy some customizations directly from the Wardrobe, be it clothes, gestures, or even weapon skins. Plus, the Featured store still stays with both unique customizations and limited discounts. This should make it easier for you to get a full set of customizations or to buy a weapon color for a newly acquired weapon – get up to speed faster. That reminds me of another addition, this time to the encounter lobby – a "ready" button. If everyone in the lobby uses the button, there's no need to wait until the end of the countdown and the encounter will start right away.
Fake Buried Caches & Shoulder Switching
There are changes in the encounters as well, some of them more notable than the rest. We heard some complaints about Buried Caches and how it is easy to find them once you know all the locations. We added a ton of new ones with the start of the Hunters season, yet we decided to make it a bit more interesting with the addition of fake caches too. The cache displayed on photos is indeed the correct one, yet all the others look legit as well, until you start digging. You'll find just an empty spot and lose valuable time digging on the wrong site. Still, even finding the fake one isn't that easy – remembering all the spots and clearing them one by one might grant you the correct location... eventually. Skill comes into play with another update: Shoulder Switching. Should you need to cover an area behind a corner, instead of just switching shoulder you now switch the whole weapon grip while aiming. This provides you with even more visibility when peaking a corner.
And more
I definitely missed your favorite addition in Update 2.1, so feel free to check the full changelog on our web or directly at the start of the game. We are all looking forward to your feedback; it drives the game forward all the time. And don't forget to check our Vigor Partners as well, they may also have something cool to show for following updates pretty soon.
See you in post-war Norway
